Thanks I made them, sew can you! Baby Lock Ambassador Shares Her Creative Spark

Our Baby Lock Ambassadors are committed to sharing their love of sewing, quilting, and embroidery through educational and entertaining social media content. They often host free and low-cost quilt-alongs, virtual and in-person sewing events, and giveaways. Each finds ways to connect with their local community, and the greater community of creatives. Get to know the ambassadors here, and follow their social media accounts to see their latest projects, contests, and events. If you’re searching for free projects and sewing tutorials, the Baby Lock Ambassadors contribute to our Learn & Create blog!

Ambassador Bianca Springer is the perfect example. Bianca Springer of Thanks I made them sew can you uses her skills and heart to support her community. She often demonstrates how to give previously loved fabrics a new life by transforming quilts into show-stopping garments. Bianca teaches parent/child sewing lessons, group and private lessons, hand embroidery workshops, and more. She encourages her students and social media followers to flex their creativity, try new things, and be unapologetically themselves.

Bianca Springer is a garment sewist, pattern designer, sewing instructor and experimental quilter. She is the creator of unique sewing pattern weights to improve sewing efficiency and speed. Bianca is a contributing writer for Sew News magazine, Creative Machine Embroidery magazine, and is a fiber artist. Bianca is the author of the book, Represent! Embroidery. Stitch 10 Colorful Projects & 100 Designs Featuring a Full Range of Shapes, Skin Tones & Hair Textures. To follow along with Bianca, check out her links here.

Bianca Springer is hosting a variety of sewing programs this summer. This blog focuses on two workshops in Houston, TX and one in Madeline Island, WI. When Bianca’s Baby Lock contract was up for renewal, she didn’t request more machines for her personal collection. She asked for beginner-friendly machines to be used at her community events!

Bianca says, “Sewing isn’t just a craft—it’s a powerful way to foster creativity, self-expression, and community. It encourages sustainability through clothing repair and customization, offers a therapeutic outlet, and builds a sense of accomplishment that can extend into other areas of life.”

Therefore, Baby Lock sent six Jubilant sewing machines and one Vibrant serger from our Genuine Collection, to provide Bianca’s students with beginner-friendly, reliable equipment. The Jubilant machine has 80 built-in stitches, an automatic needle threader, and a free arm for sewing cuffs and sleeves. The Vibrant serger adds a professional touch to projects with its 4-thread stitching and adjustable presser foot.

Stitching Together Community: Harris County Library Workshops

*free, sessions through July 2025, Houston, TX
These workshops are designed to make sewing education accessible to everyone, regardless of age or experience level. Students will learn to operate a sewing machine, read patterns, alter clothing, hand embroider, and even make a tote bag. We’re SEW impressed with the results of these classes. Baby Lock hopes our machines help Bianca’s students accomplish their creative goals.

“Renowned fiber artist and celebrated author Bianca Springer is no stranger to HCPL [Harris County Public Library] In fact, her business started within the very walls where she is now sharing her wisdom and experience with students.  A few years ago, when Bianca was a new mother, she discovered her local Harris County library's Maker Space resources and took some classes on the various machines. With these free classes and her background in sewing, she utilized the library’s available tools, like the laser cutter, to create unique patterns for a variety of products and launch her business, Thanks! I Made Them, Sew Can You.” (from an article on HCLP.net

Art League Houston (recently completed)

Bianca taught multiple enthusiastic groups as a part of her classes through Art League Houston. The students at the Summer High School Studio Art Intensive Program went wild for the hand embroidery and shibori dye lessons! She also hosted an embroidery session for Creative Educators.

The Art League of Houston hosts the Healing Arts community. This group includes individuals looking for therapeutic benefits through art. The participants might deal with chronic illness, physical disabilities, mental health, or other conditions. Regardless of their background, Healing Arts is a place where students can safely explore their artistic potential and connect with others. Learn more about this program here
