Instructions:

1. Cut two front, two back and sleeve pattern pieces from fabric.  For this sample, the same fabric was used for the exterior and the lining.

  • Note: read the pattern instructions and make any pattern adjustments as needed.

2. Press the front and back fabric pieces to the SF 101 Shapeflex.

3. Using a Tape measure, mark some reference points on the jacket.  This includes the seam allowance and spacing for the designs.

4. Mark the bottom corner and top corner for help in placement.

5. Also, mark the center middle of the back to help align.

6. Place the fabric and stabilizer in the 11 5/8” X 18 ¼” or 10 5/8” X 16” hoop.  If needed, you can float your project on top of the stabilizer or use a magnetic hoop.

7. On the Radiance, select Common Designs (2nd option), Decoration Tab and design #22

8. Set the design.

9. Combine this element with other coordinating designs.  For this jacket front panels, design #22,  #19 and #23 from the Decoration tab were also used and combined.

10. Once you have all the designs on the Embroidery Editing Screen, resize or rotate the design as desired.

11. Try using the Color Visualizer feature under the Color Key to help you preview different color combinations.

12. If you find a different color combination, save that design to memory.

13. For this project, you can duplicate and layout the design for the jacket point.  Below is a sample of the layout.

14. Be sure to save your design to Memory.

16. Touch Embroidery.

17. Using your favorite placement option, place the design based on the marks on your fabric.  You can use the any of the preferred marked points to help align your design

Note:  You can also place each design one at a time if desired.  You will need to then stitch out each design one at a time.

18. If stitching multiple designs, use the Color Sort feature under Layout to help consolidate the thread changes.

19. Repeat this process for both sides of the jacket front and then add another embroidery design to the back center back of the jacket.

20. The design on the jacket back can be found in the Common Designs, Botanicals, Design #1.

21. Once all your embroidery is done, remove the excess stabilizer and markings.

22. Switching to a sewing machine, complete construction of the jacket per the instructions in the pattern.

23. Once completed, add the jacquard trim around the edges.
