Summer School Project VI: Monster Applique Customized Hoodie By Russell Conte

If your child has ever tried to throw away a piece of clothing that could have easily been mended, you know there are a number of ways to fix a simple hole or split seam. One of the most fun ways to mend or customize clothes is through applique. Russell Conte of Sewp Box Productions created this applique hoodie from one of his foster son’s drawings. By dividing up the pieces of your child’s drawing and cutting out fusible interfacing and fabric, you can create a simple and fun applique that is personal and unique. If you’ve been wanting to try custom applique for yourself or want to introduce your artistic kid to sewing, this is a great project to try it out!
