Skill Level: Beginner
Make these cute embroidered hoop ornaments for your tree or give them as a gift this holiday season. This easy sewing project includes free embroidery designs and can be put together using 3" embroidery hoops and fun pompom fringe. Download printable instructions. Download design.
Hoop the Baby Lock 8 Stick-Tear Stabilizer and hoop into the 4" x 4" or 5" x 7" hoop.
Peel off the top layer of the stabilizer to expose the sticky stabilizer. Place the fabric onto the sticky stabilizer.
For this application use the “floating” method of hooping.
Since velveteen has a tendency for hoop “burn” or leave markings from hooping this is an ideal time to float the fabric using the Baby Lock Stick-Tear Stabilizer.
Place the hoop onto the machine.
Transfer the designs onto a USB stick.
In the machine, retrieve the design from the USB stick.
Position the design as desired. If using a larger hoop, add multiple designs to the hoop.
When ready to stitch, touch Lock and Start/Stop.
Once finished sewing, remove hoop from machine.
Remove the fabric and stabilizer.
To complete the ornament, hoop the fabric into the 3" embroidery hoop.
Trim any excess fabric extending from the hoop.
Attach the pompom fringe on the back of the hoop using a hot glue gun or other craft glue.
Attach a loop of 3/8" ribbon to finish off the ornament.
