I am upgrading from a Brother xr3340. I was looking for a machine with more generous throat space that could handle small projects, to big ones-such as quilts. The Allegro didn't disappoint! I got every upgrade that my Brother was missing. 4x the throat space, faster sewing, no skipped stitches when sewing at fast speeds (or at all for that matter), built in thread cutter, drop in bobbin, and still computerized unlike the Jazz II... I've even seen quilters use this machine on a long arm rig to topstitch their quilts. While very nervous about the larger price tag, I'm very happy I bought the Allegro. I struggled with tension issued the first session or two. I don't know if it just needed to sew a few times but I haven't had tension issues since. I'm currently working on a quilt for my daughter, it's going beautifully. I would purchase this again, and look forward to a second Babylok in the future and many many quilts for my loved ones.

Baby lock allegro
Baby lock allegro is a nice machine. It does fall short in some areas. Just about all decorative stitches come at standard width and length. You cant use for quilting. Thread cutter not great either, only works for a few cuts then you must take inside apart and clean it. I thought it would be a little more high end for the price.
