Max Vu
Max believes clothing should be thoughtfully constructed - every seam, every stitch, every detail serving a purpose. While exploring different forms of design, he found a deep appreciation for traditional Japanese techniques like sashiko and boro, drawn to their history, texture, and durability. Over time, that appreciation evolved into a signature approach: blending heritage handwork with modern garment construction.
Through his brand, CLONE, Max shares the full process of building garments from the ground up - drafting patterns, sewing structured silhouettes, and incorporating detailed stitching that adds character and strength. He's passionate about showing that craftsmanship isn't limited to one method, but lives in the balance between precision machine work and intentional finishing details.
Max creates to prove that tradition and innovation can coexist in the same piece. When he's not sewing, he's studying vintage workwear, refining patterns, and pushing his technical skills further - always focused on making the next garment better than the last.
