Greatest Machine in my Fleet
I have Singers, Husqvarna, Pfaff, and now a Babylock. My Babylock Serenade is by far the best of the bunch. Disclaimer: Several factory adjustments in the Service Manual are incorrect, possibly leading to some negative experiences. I purchased this machine in June 2024 as a junker and found that it has never been used. Zero dust inside and zero oil on the felts. It did not function due to multiple settings out of tolerance. With some of them are at .02 mm, it is easy to understand that a incorrect gap can cause huge problems. I went thru and adjusted everything based on my engineering experience and now this is an amazing machine. I blame any negative experiences with a lack of quality control when factory settings were established. The needle shaft, bobbin case and primary thread tension are incorrect in the service manual, and 2 flat washers are needed behind the needle plate to avoid pressure foot lever binding. It is by far the smoothest quilter I've ever seen.
