Baby Lock’s best fully mechanical machine

The Zeal is the machine for you if you’re looking to create simple, quality clothing or other sewing projects. If you’re a new sewist, or just want to create affordable, quality men’s clothing, like me, then this is the perfect machine for you. It doesn’t have 5 million stitch types, but it will sew anything from snugly knits (T-shirts, rugby shirts) to everyday cotton wovens (denim jeans, twill trousers, men’s sport and dress shirts), to wool suiting, to thin garment leather, to vests, jackets, & coats. Your only limitation is your creativity. The Zeal is a quiet, quality, sturdy machine. It doesn’t have electronic bells and whistles that cost a fortune to fix when they go south. Instead it’s fully mechanical and easy and inexpensive to maintain and repair. I’m a beginning to intermediate sewist and I’ve owned the Zeal for almost a year now. It’s handled everything I’ve thrown at it with aplomb. A few inexpensive accessories like denim and leather needles and a teflon foot have enabled me to create everything I’ve tried. It comes with a fully automatic buttonhole maker which makes it easy & fast to create buttonholes. For garment making, it’s the cat’s pajamas!
