Are bath time toys invading your shower? Here is a quick fix for a small space. Add decorative pockets to the inside of the shower curtain liner to help clear the clutter in the bath or shower! Download printable instructions.

Materials:

  • Purchased cloth shower curtain liner
  • All-purpose thread to match
  • ½ yard of decorative vinyl
  • Spool of ¼” red dot ribbon
  • Spool of ½” black dot ribbon
  • Spool of ½” black dot ribbon
  • Washable fabric glue
  • Eyelet punch
  • Pins

Tools:

Steps:

  1. Cut five pockets 8” x 9” from the decorative vinyl. We used this cute lady bug vinyl.

  2. Use the eyelet punch to create 3 small holes 1” from the corner. This will allow water that may collect in the pockets to drain.

  3. Fold the shower curtain liner in half and mark the center with a few pins.

  4. Measure down approximately 12” from the top of the curtain and position the pockets on the inside of the shower curtain liner in a checker board fashion.

    1. Make sure to center the pockets with the center pinned line of the curtain. Note: Raise and lower the pockets to be in the best location for your shower.

  5. Use the blue painter’s tape to keep the pockets in place until they are secure with stitching.

    1. The painter’s tape is designed to not leave a residue and it can be removed after the stitching is complete.

  6. Thread the machine with all-purpose thread and attach the Teflon foot.

  7. Stitch the vinyl pockets to the curtain using a straight stitch.

  8. Cover the lower edge of the pockets with red dot ribbon. Straight stitch or glue to secure it in place.

  9. Cover the side edges of the pockets with black dot ribbon. Straight stitch or glue to secure it in place.

  10. Hang your shower curtain and fill the pockets!
