**Supplies: Batting: 30 x 30 Pen Ruler Rotary cutter Coordinating thread 1/4

quilting foot note All seam allowances are 1/4. To achieve the correct seam allowance use your Baby Lock 1/4 quilting foot. When stitching line up the raw edge of your fabric with the right side edge of the 1/4 foot and you will get an accurate seam allowance every time. Set your machine stitch length to 2.5. This will ensure your pieces are stitched securely.

Fabric Requirements:

Fabric A– 1 Fat Quarter (Lilac)

Fabric B – 1 Fat Quarter (Pink)

Fabric C – 1 Fat quarter (Yellow)

Fabric D – 1 Fat Quarter (Green)

Background – 1/3 yard (White)

Cutting Instructions:

Fabric A (Lilac) - Cut (4) 5 ½ x 5 ½ squares

Fabric B (Pink) - Cut (4) 5 ½ x 5 ½ squares

Fabric C (Yellow) - Cut (4) 5 ½ x 5 ½ squares Cut (4) 4 ½ x 4 ½ squares

Fabric D (Green) - Cut (4) 4 ½ x 4 ½ squares

Background (White) - Cut (12) 5 ½ x 5 ½ squares.
Cut (8) 3 ½ x 3 ½ squares.
Cut (2) 12 ½ x 2 ½ strips.
Cut (1) 26 ½ x 2 ½ strip.**

To make 2 at-a-time Half Square Triangles (HST)

Pair 5 ½ x 5 ½ squares together matching right sides. Make the following number of sets:

Fabric A/Background = 4 sets

Fabric B/Background = 4 sets

Fabric C/Background = 4 sets

  1. Pair 5 ½ x 5 ½ squares together matching right sides.

  2. Draw a diagonal line on the back of one square per pair. Stitch 1/4 from both sides of the drawn line. Cut on the drawn line. Open and press seams toward darker fabric. Trim each HST to 4 ½ x 4 ½.

  3. You will have (8) HSTs of each color combination: Fabric A/Background Fabric B/Background and Fabric C/Background.

  4. Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on the back of all (8) 3 ½ x 3 ½ squares.

  5. Place a 3 ½ x 3 ½ background square on the bottom right corner of Fabric D 4 ½ x 4 ½ square. Stitch on the drawn line.

  6. Trim 1/4 from the drawn line. Open and press toward Fabric D.

  7. Repeat steps 5-6 by placing a 3 ½ x 3 ½ square on the top left corner of same Fabric D square. This is the Stem Unit. Block Assembly

  8. Lay out your blocks according to the block assembly diagram in attached pdf instructions. You will be making 2 flower blocks with Fabric A HSTs and 2 flower blocks with Fabric B HSTs.

  9. Sew blocks together in rows. Press in direction of arrows.

  10. Sew rows together. Press seams to one side.

  11. Lay out two flower blocks side by side. Both blocks are facing the same direction. The top row will have the Fabric A flower on left and Fabric B flower on right. Bottom row will have Fabric B flower on left and Fabric A flower on right. . Sew one 12 ½ x 2 ½ sashing strip between top A/B blocks. Press toward the sashing strip. Repeat to sew one 12 ½ x 2 ½ sashing strip between Bottom B/A blocks. Press toward the sashing strip.

  12. Join top and bottom rows together by sewing the 26 ½ x 2 ½ sashing strip between the two rows. Press toward the sashing strip.

  13. Your quilt top is now complete. Baste quilt and bind in your preferred method.
