Give your bathroom a new look just by adding a monogram to a new set of bathroom towels. Use the Baby Lock Flourish 2 to make the job easy and fun while using a built-in Exclusive Script font. Download printable instructions.

Materials:

  • Baby Lock Stick-Tear Tear-Away Stabilizer (BLT102)
  • Baby Lock Water Soluble Topping Stabilizer
  • Madeira® Black Rayon embroidery thread
  • Black bobbin thread

Tools:

Steps:

  1. Turn on the machine. To retrieve the built-in font click on Exclusive Script (as shown below). Select the first letter of your last name and place it on the workspace.

  2. Hoop the Stick-Tear Tear-Away Stabilizer using the largest hoop (6 ¼ x 10 1/4).

    1. Place the shiny side of the stabilizer facing upward in the hoop. Gently score the top layer on the stabilizer with a pin or the pointed tip of the scissors.

    2. Peel the top section (shiny side) of the stabilizer away to reveal the sticky side of the stabilizer. Set aside.

  3. Determine the placement of the letter on the bath towel hand towel and bath mat based on the size of the letter while using the following placement chart.

    1. Mark the areas with a water soluble marker or a Frixion Pen (the mark will disappear with a hot iron).

    2. Bath Towel - 4” to 5” from the bottom edge or 1.5” above the braided area centered from left to right.

    3. Hand Towel – 3” to 3 ½” from the bottom edge or approximately 1” above the braided area centered from left to right.

    4. Bath Mat – Centered.

  4. Set up the machine for embroidery:

    1. Wind the bobbin with black bobbin thread.

    2. Place the bobbin in the bobbin case.

    3. Thread the machine with the black Madeira embroidery thread.

    4. Place the towel centered over the stabilized hoop. Finger press the towel to secure to the stabilizer in the hoop.

    5. Place the hoop on the embroidery unit.

    6. Place a small piece of water soluble topping stabilizer larger than the design over the top of the hoop. This will help keep the stitches from sinking into the fibers.

  5. Repeat for the other pieces for the bathroom.
