Embroidered Cosmetic Bag

Who doesn’t love a pretty little place to keep the things they use every day? Make an already adorable makeup bag even better with personalized a monogram. Just use a contrasting thread color and follow these simple steps for flawless embroidery. Download printable instructions.

Materials:

• Purchased makeup bag
• Baby Lock Cut-Away Soft stabilizer
• Marking pen
• Madeira® embroidery thread
• Basic embroidery supplies

Tools:

• Baby Lock® Alliance embroidery machine

Steps:

1. Turn on the machine on.

2. Place a full bobbin in the bobbin case.

3. Thread the machine with Madeira embroidery thread.

4. Place the “e” bracket on the machine.

5. Cut a 4” square piece of stabilizer.

6. Mark the center placement line on the center front for placement of the embroidered letter.

7. Using the 50mm x 50mm hoop place the stabilizer over the bottom section of the hoop and place the bag with the placement mark centered in the hoop.

   1. Place the inside section of the hoop over the bag area and press in place.

   2. Tighten the screw on the hoop so that the cap does not shift.

   3. Place the hoop on the machine.

   4. If the bag is unhoopable use temporary spray adhesive and place the bag over the sprayed stabilizer.

   5. Finger press in the hoop.

8. Place the hoop on the machine being careful that the bobbin area is placed inside the bag.

9. To place the letters on the workspace select the first font icon (as shown below).

10. Select the second font icon as shown below.

11. Select a letter from the smaller group of letters as shown below in the following illustration. The smaller letters are approximately 2” tall. Click on Set.

12. o resize the letter smaller click on the Size icon. Click on the first icon with the arrows pointing inward until the size of the letter is less than 50mm as shown in the following illustrat

    1. The size in the sample was 49.2mm.

    2. On this machine you can resize downward 10% and upward 20%.

13. Center the letter over the center mark on the bag by using the arrow keys on the screen to move the letter while using the needle beam as your guide.

14. Once the letter is placed correctly click on the Embroidery icon. Embroider the design.

15. Remove the hoop from the machine and cut the stabilizer away from the back of the bag close to the stitching. Enjoy!
