Dive into the world of contemporary fashion and craft your very own Modern Quilted Bucket Hat! Whether you’re a seasoned quilter or just starting out, our step-by-step instructions will guide you through the process, ensuring a fun and rewarding DIY experience.

Skill Level: Beginner

Created By: Denise Schober, Baby Lock Training and Education Team

Instructions:

1.        Load the Villa Frame with the lining fabric right side down, just as you would a quilt backing.

2.        Next, load your choice of batting or flannel.  Flannel can be used to create a raw edge for the bucket hat.  To achieve this look, simply snip the outer edges of your brim and wash and dry the hat upon completion.  If you prefer a more finished look, use batting and bind the edge.

3.        Load outer baric by basting the edges to the batting and backing.

Option 1: Quick and easiest way to make a quilted bucket hat can be achieved with edge-to-edge quilting over the fabric.  Once quilted, remove from the frame  and cut out with using your favorite bucket hat pattern.  We used Mood Fabrics FREE design found below.

Option 2: A custom quilted bucket hat ucan be made using the Pro-Stitcher Lite and Baby Lock Gallant.  Using the Pro-Stitcher Designer, we have created 3 areas that will construct a medium bucket hat.  The pictured has were made with the Mood Fabric Free Pattern.
