Instructions

1.    Adhere the Hotfix to the wrong side of the 16'' x 7'' piece and the 12'' x 7'' piece
2.    Use the included triangle and diamond shape pattern to cut out the applique pieces.  There will be 8 triangles and 3 diamonds.  Accuracy counts here!!  Use a cutting machine if available.
3.    Starch the 10'' X 22'' fabric panel.  Mark with a fabric pen or tailors chalk as illustrated on the “Layout for Decorative Panel” page.  (Final page in these instructions)  Position the applique pieces as shown.  Remove the paper backing  and press the applique pieces in place.
4.    Set up machine for the triangle applique pieces as follows: (select utility stitch> select tapering stitch /(T)>
select T-03> tapering ON> start 30> end 30> ending style #3> tapering will be stopped after the specified number of repetitions: 35)
(Machine setting for triangles: use the N+ foot)
5.    Use practice lines to make sure the settings are stitching the correct size. Make sure the practice lines are printed at 100%. Do not hold or push fabric while stitching.
(practice lines for DIAMOND are 68mm, practice lines for EQUILATERIAL TRIANGLE ARE 82 MM)
6.    Set up machine for the diamond applique pieces as follows: (change the tapering stitch to T-16> start at 30> end at 30> ending style #3> 23 times>
width at 6.0) (Machine setting for diamonds uses the n+ foot)
7.    Again, use the included practice lines (in downloadable instructions) to make sure the settings above are stitching the correct size. Make sure the practice lines are printed at 100%. Do not hold or push fabric while stitching.
8.    Completing the front of the pillow cover is next. Center the appliqued panel on top of the 22'' x 22'' felt piece. Secure with temporary adhesive spray.
(see attached instructions for detailed diagram)
9. Place a 1.5'' x 22'' accent fabric piece along one long raw edge of the center panel. Stitch a ¼ '' seam allowance through all thicknesses. Repeat for remaining long raw edge of the center panel. Press accent strips away from the center panel.
10.    Place a 6.5'' x 22'' denim fabric piece along one long raw edge of an accent strip. Stitch a ¼ '' seam allowance through all thicknesses. Repeat for second accent strip. Press denim away from the accent strips.
11.    Baste through all layers ¼'' from raw edges.
12.    Use temporary adhesive spray to secure the 22'' x 22'' fabric piece to the matching felt piece. Repeat for the 5'' x 22'' Fabric and felt pieces. Install the zipper along one raw edge of the 22'' x 22'' and the 5'' x 22'' units. Use your favorite zip installation method.
13.    Trim the completed pillow cover back unit to 20'' x 20''. Place the pillow front and back units right sides together. Partially unzip the zipper and then sew the perimeter of the pillow cover with a ½ '' seam allowance.
14.    Box each of the four corners if desired.
15.    Turn the pillow cover right side out and insert the pillow form.
