Instructions:
1. Cut two front and two back pattern pieces from fabric. For this sample, the same fabric was used for the exterior and the lining.
2. Sandwich quilt batting between the top and front layers and stitch using the StitchSync™ Free Motion Quilting Foot with Stitch Regulation.
3. Using the picture as a guide, cut out scraps of fabric to create the sunrise design and place on the provided pocket pattern piece.
4. Choose stitches from either the Utility Menu or the Character/Decorative Menu and embellish the sunrise design with stitches, stitching directly to the pocket piece.
5. Complete construction of the tote per the instructions in the pattern.
For the project pictured, the author finished off the side seams on the interior of the bag with self-fabric binding that encased the raw edges. Side seams were pressed open after being sewn together with a 5/8” seam and stitched down in place, going through all layers. The top tote edges were also finished with binding cut on the straight of grain.
